Welcome to The information technology blog.
My name is Carmelo, I am originally from Puerto Rico but have lived in Florida most of my life. I work in IT and Automation for an industrial cement plant. IT support for an industrial plant was pretty stray forward on the business side with a couple of VMWare clusters, Windows servers, laptops, and workstations. Later, I got the chance to help in the automation systems, which interested me in programming. The automation side introduced me to PLC and HMI servers which are pretty redundant environments; however, the logic of the program in both the PLC and HMI is constantly evolving based on new equipment or new request. After working with networking, field services, and programming, I have found I like programming the best. My favorite program language is Visual Basic in business programming, whereas I like block logic in PLC. QBasic was the first programming language I learned, and it has allowed me to understand Visual Basic .net, VBA, and VBScript, which I have used in many applications throughout my career. My career aspiration is to become a programmer. I hope to gain the concepts needed for my degree's Information Technology and programming path from this course.
